Prices checked: October 15, 2026

Use v0 to generate a screen and deploy it to Vercel. Use Cursor to change a codebase you already have. v0 Plus is $30 per user a month. Cursor can start at $0, and Plus is $8 a month for Cursor's own models only.

Honest pick for a new interface: v0. Honest pick for an existing repo: Cursor.

Prices were checked October 15, 2026 on the official pages linked in the table. A number that was not printed there stays TBD. Pair pages that repeat a full guide are not listed here. Those guides stay the canonical page.

## Comparison

### v0 by Vercel
Best for: Generating UI that deploys to Vercel
Site: https://v0.app
- Free: $0, with 7 messages a day. Deploys to Vercel and syncs with GitHub. A badge rule was not on the pages checked, so that stays TBD. A separate Vercel hosting charge is TBD. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://v0.app/pricing and https://v0.app/docs/pricing.
- Paid: Plus is $30 per user a month, with $30 in monthly credits and $2 in daily login credits. Premium at $20 a month is no longer available to new users. Business is $100 per user a month. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://v0.app/pricing.
- Who it is for: You want a page or a component from a prompt, and the destination is a Vercel project.
- Downside: The free plan stops at 7 messages a day. v0 is not the editor you keep open while you debug the rest of the app.

### Cursor
Best for: The editor, once the files exist
Site: https://cursor.com
- Free: $0, with limited Agent and Chat. No third-party models. The request cap is not published, so it stays TBD. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://cursor.com/pricing and https://cursor.com/docs/account/pricing.
- Paid: Plus is $8 a month for Cursor's own models. Premium is $30 a month and adds third-party models at API list price. Super is $100 a month. Ultra is $200 a month. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://cursor.com/docs/account/pricing.
- Who it is for: You are past the first screen and you want to edit routes, data fetching, and the files v0 or you already wrote.
- Downside: You bring the project. Cursor does not deploy it for you, and Claude is not included until Premium.

## Questions

### Is v0 included with Cursor?

No. They are separate products with separate prices. v0 lives at v0.app. Cursor lives at cursor.com. A Vercel hosting bill on top of v0 is TBD. Vercel hosting by itself is compared with Netlify at https://buildstackweekly.com/compare/vercel-vs-netlify.

### Which one should a beginner open first?

v0, if you have no files and you want a page. Cursor, if someone already handed you a repo. If you also need the database created for you, look at Lovable first: https://buildstackweekly.com/compare/lovable-vs-v0.

### Can I generate in v0 and edit in Cursor?

Yes. v0 syncs with GitHub. Clone that repo and open it in Cursor. You then spend v0 messages on the design and Cursor requests on the edits.

### What is still TBD?

Cursor's free request cap, any v0 badge rule, and a separate Vercel hosting charge for a v0 project. Those were not a single number on the pages checked October 15, 2026.
