# Vercel vs Netlify

Updated: October 15, 2026
Prices checked: October 15, 2026

Both will host a frontend from Git. Vercel Hobby is $0 a month and includes a fixed amount of CDN traffic and function time. Netlify Free is $0 and spends a 300 credit budget on deploys, bandwidth, and compute. Pro is $20 a month on both. The meters are different, so $20 does not buy the same thing. This page is hosting. It is not the v0 product.

Honest pick if the app is Next.js and you may use v0 later: Vercel. Honest pick if you want the free plan to be a credit budget you can see: Netlify.

v0 by Vercel is a separate product. Its price is on https://buildstackweekly.com/compare/bolt-vs-v0. A v0 deploy can still create a Vercel hosting project, and any extra hosting charge for that was TBD on the v0 pages.

Prices were checked October 15, 2026 on the official pages linked in the table. A number that was not printed there stays TBD. Pair pages that repeat a full guide are not listed here. Those guides stay the canonical page.

## Comparison

### Vercel
Best for: Next.js and other frontends, with included usage
Site: https://vercel.com
- Free: Hobby is $0 a month. It includes 1 million CDN requests, 100 GB of Fast Data Transfer, 4 hours of Fluid Active CPU, 360 GB-hours of Fluid Provisioned Memory, and 1 million function invocations. Custom firewall rules and IP blocking are capped at 3. Blob storage is 1 GB. Image optimization is 5,000 transformations. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://vercel.com/pricing.
- Paid: Pro is $20 a month. It includes 10 million CDN requests (then starting at $2 per million) and 1 TB of Fast Data Transfer (then starting at $0.15 per GB). Fluid Active CPU starts at $0.128 per hour past the included amount. Enterprise is custom. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://vercel.com/pricing.
- Who it is for: You are shipping a Next.js app, a v0 export, or anything else that already assumes Vercel.
- Downside: Hobby is a personal plan with hard included amounts. A busy free site does not have a credit pack to buy. You move to Pro at $20, then usage past the Pro allowances.

### Netlify
Best for: A frontend with a visible credit budget
Site: https://www.netlify.com
- Free: $0, with a 300 credit limit. Includes deploys from Git or an API, unlimited deploy previews, custom domains with SSL, functions, blob storage, and a global CDN. Production deploys cost 15 credits. Bandwidth is 20 credits per GB. Web requests are 2 credits per 10,000. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://www.netlify.com/pricing/.
- Paid: Personal is $9 a month for 1,000 credits. Pro is $20 a month for 3,000 credits and unlimited members. Credit packs on Pro are 1,500 credits for $10. Enterprise is custom. AI inference varies by model, so a dollar price for that stays TBD. Checked October 15, 2026 on https://www.netlify.com/pricing/.
- Who it is for: You want previews on every push, a custom domain on the free plan, and a credit number you can watch instead of several usage meters.
- Downside: The free plan can run out of 300 credits. A credit is not a dollar. The page converts credits to dollars with the Pro pack rate, and that conversion is not a separate free-plan price.

## Questions

### Is v0 the same as Vercel hosting?

No. v0 is the UI generator at v0.app. This page compares Vercel hosting with Netlify hosting. v0 Plus is $30 per user a month and is documented on https://buildstackweekly.com/compare/v0-vs-cursor. Whether a v0 project adds a separate hosting charge stays TBD.

### Which Pro plan is $20?

Both. Vercel Pro is $20 a month and raises the included CDN and transfer amounts, then bills overages. Netlify Pro is $20 a month and includes 3,000 credits. Extra Netlify credits are a pack: 1,500 credits for $10 on Pro.

### Can I use a custom domain for free?

Netlify Free includes custom domains with SSL. A separate Vercel custom-domain fee was not a line on the pricing page checked October 15, 2026, so that fee stays TBD. Preview deployment suffixes on Vercel Pro are a different feature, at $100 a month.

### Which one should a beginner use?

Use the host your tool already deploys to. v0 deploys to Vercel. A lot of other generators can push to either. If you have not generated anything yet, take the quiz at https://buildstackweekly.com/pick-my-stack and pick the builder first.
