Lovable vs v0
Use Lovable when the thing you are building has to save data, log people in, or store a file. Use v0 when you are designing the interface and the database is a later step. Lovable's free plan counts build credits. v0's free plan counts messages.
Honest pick for a first app that stores something: Lovable. Honest pick for a screen you will drop into a Vercel project: v0.
The three-tool version of this choice, with Bolt.new included, is at https://buildstackweekly.com/lovable-vs-bolt-vs-v0 (opens in a new tab).
Prices were checked October 15, 2026 on the official pages linked in the table. A number that was not printed there stays TBD. Pair pages that repeat a full guide are not listed here. Those guides stay the canonical page.

Who each tool is for
Lovable
You want a waitlist, a small app, or a login, and you would rather not open a database dashboard on day one.
v0 by Vercel
You already know the page will live on Vercel, and you are ready to add Supabase, Firebase, or another database yourself.
One downside each
- Lovable. The free monthly cap is 30 build credits. Use the daily 5 and it runs out in about six days. After that, Free stops granting daily build credits until next month.
- v0 by Vercel. v0 does not take the database off your plate. Seven messages a day is a short design session, not a weekend of revisions.
Questions
Which one saves emails for me?
Lovable. It handles the database, auth, and storage. v0 generates the UI and deploys it. The table that holds the addresses is a project you add. If you want to choose that database, start at https://buildstackweekly.com/supabase-vs-firebase (opens in a new tab).
Is v0 cheaper than Lovable?
The first paid step is not the same product. Lovable Pro starts at $25 a month. v0 Plus is $30 per user a month. Lovable Free is a credit cap. v0 Free is 7 messages a day. A separate Vercel hosting bill for a v0 deploy is TBD.
Can I start in v0 and move the UI into Lovable?
You can copy a layout by describing it again, and that spends credits on whichever tool you paste into. These two do not share a project. If the backend is the reason you are switching, start the new project in Lovable.
Where does Bolt fit?
Bolt.new is the code-first browser builder. Lovable vs Bolt is on https://buildstackweekly.com/compare/lovable-vs-bolt (opens in a new tab). All three are on https://buildstackweekly.com/lovable-vs-bolt-vs-v0 (opens in a new tab).
